Founded in June 1964, the China Technical Association of Paper Industry (CTAPI) is China's largest state-owned agency servicing China's paper industry. CTAPI is Highlight Technical Commettee Publications directly under the supervision of China Association of Science and Technology and China National Light Industry Council. Historically, there's no one in China that could take the place of CTAPI in serving China's paper industry so closely. Even today, CTAPI remains the major body to promote technical exchanges between China's paper industry and the outside world. Almost all its presidents since its founding are officials, normally the vice ministers, from the Ministry of Light Industry of China.
